Can anyone explain how a Boeing 777-200 can vanish without a trace?
How can it simply disappear without any indication of an in-flight emergency from the flight crew?
Does its disappearance and lack of any physical evidence suggest a catastrophic in-flight emergency which unfolded so rapidly that it caught the flight crew off guard and unable to send a distress signal?
Is it possible for someone other than the flight crew to disable its transponder or alter its radar signature to render it undetectable?

There are various services that use world-wide Boeing Winds for forecast wind data which can be used to calculate an approximate flight time between two locations. They usually have best case, worst case, and average case for each location, altitude, and date in the future. I have searched and searched Google to no avail. Where can this wind data be found, and how can it be used in a commercial product? translate to a deflection of the surfaces, mimicking the "old" mechanical control setup. It is my understanding that this is the design choice of Boeing in its new aircrafts. I do not wish to discuss how Airbus and Boeing made their design decisions, but rather see if there has been performed a study on what interface is preferred by pilots, eventually differentiating among private/commercial pilots or Airbus/Boeing certified pilots or even pure civil/(former) military pilots. Sometimes, when I'm flying on the airlines, I'll board an aircraft where the aisles seem incredibly cramped, where it's almost impossible to move past without bumping every seat. I can't imagine how much of a nuisance it'd be for people larger than me! I once saw an obese person a bit stuck between one of the aisles, blocking the way for others to move into the aircraft. But then I thought about what would happen in an emergency. What if there were numerous large people on board, and there was a fire? So, are there any limits to how much the airlines can squeeze their planes' aisles?

Can an FDR on a Boeing 777 be interfered with or vandalised during flight? If this has happened on MH370 then the black boxes may not yield any data if found.
